but what is it?
︎A Pro-formance is a live production, which is itself a performance in which the audience becomes at once a spectator and an active participant in its creation.
︎The pro-formance set is a space or environment set up with the conditions for a “thing” to emerge.
︎It is equipped with a technological setup including surveillance-style cameras and live video projections.
︎Pro-formances favour the unpredictability and vulnerability of performance as well as the production modalities involved in the making of a “thing”.
︎We are working towards our first DNV production, a Femme Brutale film woven together from live pro/formance material, documentary sources and a series of staged scenes. ︎
